Masthead ideas

I liked these fonts for  a masthead ideas because  I thought they were suitable for my genre of  magazine. for example the 3rd one is very urban because it is graffiti and my magazine is all about urban style. The last one is very simple and classy and even though my magazine is urban and about edgy it good to have a little bit of class to it as it meant to be a professional magazine.

These fonts are the more simple type of fonts. I went with the last font because I thought it would be the best one to use. I think if i used any other font such as the graffiti type one it would be too much on the page.

Journalist writing

It’s safe to say that Tonia Dolla$ is not what you would consider as your average joe this young American rapper has taken over the UK her style and music. Queen of underground witch hop (Azealia Banks inspired). Tonia truly be ‘killing ‘em’ . It is important that Hip hop see new faces in the industries and how hip hop evolves with new genres of hip hop each and every day and Tonia is just that. Miss Dolla$ finally releases her latest mix-tape ‘YXUNG GODES$’ this month she refers her new project as being ‘dope’. As her dope trendy clothing and her bright personality definitely brought light into the studio
Who are you as an artist?
I’m a lost teen in the world trying to prove myself as not being an unable lazy moron but look like an individual that can produce sick beats and make grannies dance. I’m music and I’m fashion that’s who I be, west coast repping, UK living that is Tonia Bank$ for you.

What does music mean to you?
Music is an expression of the soul, heart and mind. Like a song could be so deep and I think that from the soul and heart and could be upbeat making people want to dance I think that’s from the mind and heart. Music is so important to me its helps to remove myself from the world when I’m stressed, music keeps me sane she adds my music explains who I is be when I’m misunderstood.

What do you think about the music scene?

I think the music scene is OK I mean I think there’s definitely space for new fresh artist. I really big groups like Odd future and A$AP Mob shout outs to them! I think they’re a group of very talented artist and aren’t appreciated enough but then you get the big dogs of hip hop like Jay z, Kanye and Nas. But Tonia Dolla$ is ready to take over the music scene y’all aren’t ready.

How do you want to change it?

I want to bring something new to the table. I don’t want to be compared to female rappers like Nicki and Lil Kim they’re there already I’m not like them and neither is my music....I’m not dissing I just don’t like to be compared to them. I want to be able to bring grime style and hip hop together with a dash of R’N’B just think A$AP ROCKY, CHIPMUNK & FRANK OCEAN merged into one that would be dope as f**k!

Talk about your style?

Err...I can’t really put a finger on my style she laughs. I say that I like to express my emotion through my clothing sometimes I’m young Azeazlia Banks then I’m your trap dj ...sorry I’m a bit weird she laughs  . I like love wearing beanies and trainers a lot (we could see as she wore lime green Air max 1 hyperbeast mag approves) but sometimes I add a girlie element to my outfit and wear a skater skirt.

Who inspires you?

Music wise when it comes to inspiration... I’m inspired by many artists’ not just rappers but singers too. I look up to Azealia, Aaliyah, Robb Banks$, Angel haze and Kilo Kush. All my inspirations are all different in a way but they’ve helped me to find myself as an artist. But when it comes to Fashion I’m inspired by Chanel Iman and Jasmine Sanders because of the way they endorse the clothing.

Talk about your latest single?
Ahh! She screams I can’t wait till my new single drops. I don’t want to say much ‘cos I don’t want to give it away but what I can say is that is rad. It’s a witch hop classic I can’t wait for y’all to hear it! The beat makes you wanna dance shout out Jahlil Beats for helping me making the beats for my single and mixtape!

Any tips for your fans?
All I gotta say is the life is hard even though I’m still only 16 (yes it’s hard to believe!) the world will eat you alive don’t let it eat you! Be yourself because that’s the best of you. Remember you’re all rad as f**k you make the world go round!

Chosen Artist: Antonia

For my magazine I've decided that I want to use a female to model for my front cover and to be the my double page spread. I thought a female would be easier to style and I know what sort of look I want for my front cover and pictures of  my DPS.

The artist I've chosen to do is 'Antonia' she is a young American-British rap artist. The type of rap genre she falls in is 'witch hop' which artist  such Azealia Banks is categorised in. Antontia is young banks, young rupenzel. Antonia is inspired by Azealia Banks, Aaliyah, Robb Bank$, Angel Haze and Kilo Kush. She couldn't sum up her style in words so she refers it to be 'complex' because sometimes she'll wear preppy clothes and other days she'll look like a 'trap dj' as she says. When it comes to her style she is inspired by Chanel iman and Jasmine Sanders because she likes the clothes they endorse and the way the wear them.

Pitch audience feedback

Hyperbeast Magazine
Comments
Name
I received positive audience feedback on the name, some thought that it was catchy and it suited the genre of magazine. They also thought that it touched all the aims of my magazine and what my magazine consists of.
Masthead
I wanted my masthead to look simple, professional and to be the sort of magazine to be put beside of ‘VIBE’ magazine. The feedback I got on my masthead was that it was a good choice of font and it suits my magazine it stands out but I need to make it bolder because it is a good masthead.
Colour Scheme
The comments I got for my colour scheme was that it is ok but I’ve got to make sure that if I do use the colour red that I make sure  it stands out on the page. I was advised to may be change one of my colours. Perhaps a bolder colour such as to an electric blue or hot pink sort of colour. I will try and do a front cover house-style using these colours seeing what I prefer. But using hot pink and having a female on my front cover could make it seem to feminine and my target audience is both male and female. I want it to appeal to both sex the same amount. Even if I don't change my colour scheme I will still have to make it ‘pop’ with the colours I have chosen to use.
Font
As I wanted my magazine to look sophisticated I wanted to use ‘arial’ and ‘calibri’ as fonts in my magazine and I got told it was a good choice and it formal and the rights fonts for my magazine.
Images
They liked the images I used as examples and said I should take similar images for my own magazine. That the main person of my magazine should be really stylish and urban orientated.
Layout
They liked my house-style for my front cover they thought it could work how everything was positioned. They said I have more of a clear overview of my contents page layout and should look at more examples and find inspiration. For the double page spread they said they liked how everything is layout and that the big image on the left hand side really needs to be effective.

Pitch (Hyper-beast Music Mag)

Hyperbeast magazine comes from the word hype-beast which means some who follows the latest hype, the latest fashion. And that’s what my magazine will consist of the latest music, fashion and art and I want my magazine to create the hype and if it as it self to become the latest hype. The publisher that would publish my magazine IPC Media because the have already made music magazine so they have experience this will be very beneficial to my magazine.  My magazine will be sold in super markets as well as corner shops. I will sell my magazine for £2.99  as I want it to affordable for students as well as working adults.

I think the would be the best option as they already publish urban music magazines and I also that I could bring something new to the table because my magazine would include different genres of hip-hop music as well as grime, so this magazine would be good marketing for them as well as it being beneficial for me.

Vibe magazine target audience is 18- 25 years. This magazine would be for people who listen to artist such as Jay Z to Tyler the creator. Young students and adults who are into street art, fashion and music. This magazine would be for people who you would find in the urban streets of New York City to Brick-lane. A lot of urban magazines majority of the audience are men and I want mine to be different and have a balance of audience so maybe including what vibe vixen magazine had in one magazine which were tips for women which could be included in the fashion section and to be clever when it comes to interviews and latest trends.

The website will contain information about the magazine, articles on celebrities, etc. This will be for web use and also using it on other electrical devices such as mobile phones. You will read the magazine issues online. On my website I will also include rap cychers. And links to other things. I also might have more social networks such as facebook ,tumblr and twitter because they are very popular especially amongst young people

I want my masthead to professional and to be eye catching at the same time so it order to make it look eye catching I should use bold, bright colours and use simple fonts.
